That's not a complaint — it's the job. A pond put in by a landscape crew as an add-on gets handed over with no plan for who looks after it, and a few seasons later the water is green, the waterfall has quit, and the owner can't find anyone local who works on them.
We're a water feature specialist in Banner Elk. Ponds, streams, waterfalls and the fish in them are the only thing we do, and we maintain features regardless of who installed them.
What we handle
Pump, filter and plumbing repair.
Pumps are the first component to fail on any recirculating system. Often a repair rather than a replacement.
Leak diagnosis.
A dropping water level is usually plumbing or a shifted stone at the waterfall, not a torn liner. We find out which before anyone starts digging.
Spring openings.
Full clean, filter restart, water treatment, and a fish health check as the water warms.
Fall winterization.
Netting, pump service, debris removal, and getting the fish set for cold water before the first hard freeze.
Water quality testing.
pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, tested on site with the results explained plainly.
Fish health.
Behaviour, disease signs, and what to do about them.
Full restoration.

Prices are starting estimates. Heavy debris, netting on a large pond, and parts are quoted on site.
Away for part of the year?
A good many High Country properties sit empty for months. A pond doesn't stop needing attention while nobody's there, and a pump that fails in January is a very different problem from one that fails in June.
We look after features for owners who aren't on the property, and tell you what we found after each visit.
